We are witnessing a shift in the way architectural practice is conceived. Whereas engineering already revolves around data-based models, traditional architectural practices are still in the process of adapting to such a system. Performance-driven design demands the integration of bottom-up approaches, together with a change from an artistic architecture towards a scientific one, enabling the designer to evaluate the implications of her input at a reduced temporal cost.
There is a growing need from engineers and designers to create their own tools for solving specific problems. To this end, algorithmic thinking and design skills are crucial. Code allows us to expand the domain of the designer’s competences, hybridizing architecture and engineering in a seamless workflow. And exactly in this area lies one of our competences.With a passion for architecture and technology we thrive in applying our expertise to solve design problems of a different nature.
We have experience working with state of the art computational techniques, from Machine Learning to evolutionary computation to design space syntax analysis, robotic vision and assembly, adaptive wearables, self regulated building management systems, geometry rationalization and sound installations among many other projects.
